HOWTO: Persistent HSCI Configuration

HiperSockets Converged Interface (HSCI), as provided by s390-tools v2.16, comes with the hsci tool for transient configuration. However, persistent configuration requires a few extra steps, which are documented for all major distributions in the following articles:

• RHEL 8.6 and 9.0
• SLES 15 SP4
• Ubuntu 22.04

All versions specified are minimum versions.
 

New Release: RHEL 8.6 on IBM zSystems

 RHEL 8.6 is out, see the press release here! It ships, among others:

• s390-tools v2.19 (renamed to s390utils)
• smc-tools v1.6.1
• openCryptoki v3.17
